Children writing thank you cards

Youth Education

Teaching Kids the Power of Thank You

Age-appropriate resources, activities, and programs to help classrooms and families honor firefighters — and build a lifelong habit of gratitude.

Why It Matters

When children learn to recognize and express gratitude for the people who protect them, they develop empathy, civic pride, and a sense of community responsibility. The Thank A Firefighter Schools program gives educators and parents the tools to make that happen.

#Floss4Firefighters Challenge

Join the social media floss dance challenge! Floss, record a video, post and tag #Floss4Fighters and #FirefighterFloss. Why It Matters

Firefighters Love Cards

Helping Ninjas love making cards for firefighters — and ask children everywhere to join us on our mission to thank a firefighter. But don't just take our word for it.

"That single act of human kindness of simply saying 'thank you' meant the world to me and to this day still does."

— Mike Lewter, former paramedic

You would be surprised by the power and impact that writing a simple "thank you" card to first responders might have. An article published on FireRescue1.com explores exactly why firefighters treasure these letters — and the stories shared will move you.
